Kanan Shuttle COVID-19 Response
March 18, 2021
Kanan Shuttle will run on the non-school day (reduced) service schedule until March 22, 2021.
Beginning March 22, Kanan Shuttle will resume school-based schedule Monday through Thursday. Masks are required and seating is strictly limited to 15 passengers per bus. We want to assure you that during the COVID-19 pandemic, as always, your safety remains our highest priority.
We also wanted to share the steps we are taking to reduce health risks to riders:
Enhancing Cleaning: We have increased frequency of cleaning on our fleets to multiple times a day. We utilize recommended disinfectants to wipe down surfaces and equipment, with specific emphasis on high touch points.
Increasing Supplies of Antibacterial Products: We have increased available supplies to staff and drivers, such as antibacterial hand sanitizer, wipes, and made them available throughout employee workspaces.
Reinforcing Good Hygiene Practices: We are sharing with employees and passengers the best ways to prevent against communicable diseases, as well as implementing social distancing techniques.
Masks are required onboard the vehicles and are distributed as needed.

Kanan Shuttle Bus Stop Improvements
The Ventura County Public Works Agency’s Transportation Department has recently completed a project to improve bus stops on the Kanan Shuttle route in the Oak Park area.
Various shuttle stops have been improved, including the stops on Kanan Rd. that serve the area near Medea Creek Middle School and Oak Park High School. The improvements include adding amenities to the stops – benches, shelters, and trash and recycle receptacles. This improves the experience of current riders and helps make public transportation a more attractive option for those who may not have tried the shuttle yet.
Lost and Found
Items located on the bus will be turned into the administrative office at the City Transportation Center as soon as the bus makes a stop at that location. For buses that do not stop at the City Transportation Center, items found will be turned in no later than 7:00 a.m. the next day.
