Home MenuHousehold Hazardous Waste
The City of Thousand Oaks operates a permanent, state-of-the-art Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility, open to residents of Thousand Oaks & unincorporated Ventura County (e.g. Lake Sherwood, Santa Rosa Valley, El Rio, Saticoy, Piru). If you live outside of our service area, click here for links to the HHW programs of nearby cities.
Leftover household products that contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive ingredients are considered to be “Household Hazardous Materials” or “HHW.” Products such as cleaners, oils, batteries, fluorescent lights and pesticides require special care when you dispose of them. For information about non-hazardous waste, visit our Trash, Recycling, and Organics home page.
