Using up a product for its intended use, or giving the material to someone who can, is the best practice for any household product, and the principle behind the City's Material Reuse Program. This program takes useable household products collected at the City's weekly Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection events and makes them available to the public FREE of charge, saving the City disposal costs in addition to saving residents on the costs of purchasing new products.

Material ReUse Store Schedule

The Material Reuse Program operates alongside the City's Household Hazardous Waste Collection events every Friday and Saturday at the Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 2010 Conejo Center Drive in Newbury Park.

Days of Operation: Every Friday and Saturday.*
Hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

*The ReUse follows the same operating schedule as the HHW Facility

• Adhesives, Glue, Putty and Caulk

The City of Thousand Oaks is not responsible for the transportation of reuse/hazardous materials from the event. Ensure that you have sturdy and spill-free containers to safely transport the materials in your vehicle. Limit 20 items per customer with a maximum of 40 items per household per month. A maximum of 5 quarts of motor oil/transmission fluid per month.
