Thousand Oaks and Newbury Park residents may request up to two free collections and a total of six items picked upBulky items 3 - cropped per calendar year. If you live in an unincorporated area, the number of collections and items could be different. 

Bulky items are oversized or overweight household articles that do not fit in your trash cart or may need special handling, i.e. stoves, water heaters, washers, dryers, televisions, computers, furniture, etc.  Some limitations apply.  Refrigerators and freezers may incur a freon service fee. Contact Athens Services at (805) 852-5264 for additional details or to schedule a bulky item pick-up.

If the appliance is smaller, such as a toaster oven, blender or vacuum, you can drop it off at any Goodwill. Goodwill is a certified e-waste recycler and will accept appliances or anything with a cord, working or not. They do not accept larger appliances like refrigerators and washing machines. Mattress disposal: You can call your trash company and order a bulky item pickup for mattresses, but be aware that State law requires retailers to haul away your old mattress when they deliver a new mattress to you. More information at this link.
