HCTP Tours are offered on Wednesdays Only - Between the hours of 9:30 am - 3:00 pm
Students, groups and individuals of all ages tour the Hill Canyon Wastewater Treatment Plant (HCTP) on a regular basis. Each tour is designed towards the interests of the specific group.
Whether you want to learn more about wastewater treatment, renewable energy generation, science or technology, or walk through our national award winning wetlands to enjoy the fauna and flora, you are going to love touring the plant and learning about the City's amazing efforts here.
Numerous local universities, high schools, and elementary schools make an annual trek to HCTP learn more about our advancing technology and environmental efforts.
HCTP is known for its creative Energy Management Plan that focuses on energy conservation, process optimization, renewable energy generation. We are a great example of innovation, technology, governmental efficiency, and environmentalism.
General Information
- Tours are free.
- Tours are available on Wednesday's Only - Between the hours of 9:30 am - 3:00 pm.
- Reservations are required. Schedule a tour by clicking on the button below or call Public Works Department Administrative Staff at (805) 491-8111, or send an email to publicworksmsc@toaks.org.
- Tours typically last 1 to 1.5 hours. This is a slow-paced walking tour covering over 60 acres of technology. Accommodations can be made for those with mobility impairments.
