Home MenuCatch Basin CPS and Inlet Screen Improvement
Project Description:
The work includes the design, fabrication and installation of full capture trash control devices at specific high-priority catch basins that discharge to our waterways. There is a total of 55 catch basin locations included in the project scope (see Vicinity Map below). Related work includes pre-installation cleaning of catch basins and disposal of installation waste such as debris, dirt, and residual metal scraps.
Project timeframe:
Construction work is anticipated to start in July and continue through October 2020.
Project Funding:
This project is funded by the County Flood Control Fund.
Project Benefits:
The combination of an exterior screening device, as well as a secondary interior screen (connector pipe screen, CPS) works together to effectively reduce the amount of trash entering the storm drain system. Catch basins that have been retrofitted in this manner are considered to be in full-compliance with the trash and litter water quality standards.
