The City Council has approved a number of specific plans that implement the general plan within defined geographic areas. Specific plans typically include maps, diagrams and conditions of approval that lay out detailed land use and development regulations, design guidelines and infrastructure requirements.
Specific Plans have been established for the following areas:

- Lang Ranch (SP 3)
- Westlake North Ranch (SP 4)
- Rancho Conejo (SP 7)
- Dos Vientos (SP 8/9)
- Civic Arts Plaza (SP11)
- Seventh Day Adventists (SP 13)
- Rancho Conejo Industrial Park (SP 15)
- Amgen Center (SP 16)
- 401 West Hillcrest (SP 17)
- Kimber/Reino (SP 18)
- Rancho Potrero (SP 19)
- Thousand Oaks Boulevard (SP 20)
