Due to the declared public health emergency, the Community Development Department is operating with reduced staffing. Requests for building and planning records may experience a delayed response.
Building and Planning documents can be obtained from the Community Development Department by completing the Records Request form below. Please allow up to 10 business days for us to respond to your request. Note: many of our plans are protected by copyright laws and cannot be released to anyone without the express written consent of the 1) property owner of record and 2) engineer/architect of record. If this is the case for your records, you will be asked to come to City Hall and review the records found for your request. Once you have determined exactly what you need from the plans, we will then contact the property owner of record (if necessary) as well as the engineer/architect of record. Once notified, the engineer/architect of record has 30 days to respond to the request. If we do not hear from them by this time, we can then provide you with a copy of your requested records.
The City charges $0.15/side/page for black and white copies up to 11x17 (ledger) in size. If larger copies are requested, you will be charged for the actual cost to the City for reproduction.
Records Requests can be submitted via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, or in person at the Building and Planning Department lobby.
