Purpose: As of January 1, 2019, the Community Funding Review Committee (CFRC) has been restructured to include additional existing grant programs. The CFRC acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council relative to funding issues that now include the Community Enhancement Grants (supports projects having an environmental benefit across a wide cross-section of Thousand Oaks), Community Events Fund Grants (supports artistic and cultural events and activities) , Social Services Fund Grants (operational support grants to non-profit agencies assisting primarily lower-income City residents) , and Sports Facility Grants (supports building or improvement of existing sports fields or facilities and equipment purchase for use by the community).
Members: Nine members, City Residents, serve three-year, rotating terms. Initial Committee members shall be appointed for staggered terms with five members appointed for an initial two-year term and four members appointed for a three-year term.
No Committee member shall participate in the discussion of, or vote on, a request if said member is also a member of the organization requesting funds.
Meetings: Meets as necessary throughout each fiscal year, at scheduled times and places as determined by the Committee. No meetings in August unless deemed necessary by a majority of Committee members or the Chair.
