Thousand Oaks’ Economic Development (ED) Division is based within the City Manager’s Office. Economic Development staff work to foster economic activity and advance the economic vibrancy and sustainability of our City with the purpose to uphold and enhance quality of life for our residents.
- ED offers concierge services for existing and prospective businesses to assist with needs such as site selection, development process navigation, and permit information.
- Through partnerships with our local business community organizations, ED staff can also help to connect businesses with a variety of resources for: financing, legal services, mentoring, marketing & branding, and training, among others.
City’s Economic Development Strategic Plan (2017)
In 2016, the City embarked on an effort to develop an Economic Development Strategic Plan (EDSP). Following extensive community stakeholder engagement, the EDSP was finalized and adopted by City Council in 2017. It includes information about the City’s economic history, identifies goals and strategic recommendations for enhancing the City’s short- and long-term economic vibrancy. See the full EDSP
