City Suspends Delivery Hour Restrictions

The City of Thousand Oaks has temporarily suspended its hours on commercial deliveries. City Manager, Andrew Powers, signed an executive order this afternoon as authorized by the City’s emergency declaration. The order lifts restrictions of overnight deliveries to grocery stores, restaurants, and other food establishments in the City. The order takes effect immediately and is active only during the emergency period.

“The suspension of delivery hour restrictions will allow grocers to maintain a healthier & more consistent supply of product so they can continue to restock their shelves” said Haider Alawami, Economic Development Manager. “The federal and state governments have relaxed trucking hours, but without the City’s help, the delivery trucks cannot get to the stores during these evening hours”.

“I want to thank the residents for their patience and understanding while we implement these temporary changes” said Mayor Al Adam. “And although expanding delivery hours to grocery stores should make a difference in what’s available in our stores, it’s important that we only buy what we need and that we respect our fellow shoppers and the store employees”.
