Spring and Fall Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) classes set

certFollowing a Fire, Flood or Earthquake people and supplies may not be available for several days. The Community Emergency Response Team program (CERT) offers classes on emergency preparedness that includes training on fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Skills learned in the classroom and in the drill offers lifesaving skills for residents before and during a local emergency incident.

Thousand Oaks CERT is a coordinated effort between the Ventura County Fire Department and the City of Thousand Oaks.  Classes are scheduled twice a year with the Spring classes scheduled for April 22, April 29, May 6, 13, 20, 27 at City Hall from 6-9pm, and a final drill on Saturday, May 30th at Fire Department Headquarters in Camarillo.  The Fall classes are scheduled for September 9, 16, 23, 30, October 7, 14 and a final drill on Saturday, September 17th

CERT is a free program open to Thousand Oaks residents 18 years and older and is taught by instructors from the Ventura County Fire Department. Persons interested in the program are encouraged to visit https://www.toaks.org/departments/fire/emergency/cert or send an email to CERTInfo@toaks.org.
