Community Enhancement Grant Applications Now Being Accepted
Does your school or nonprofit have an idea for an environmental project that would benefit the community? The City of Thousand Oaks is now accepting applications for the 2019-2020 Community Enhancement Grant Program through December 2, 2019. The program provides grants for non-profit community and school groups, such as clubs and booster organizations, to conduct a community beautification or environmental project, such as a recycling program, tree planting, litter collection, composting, waste reduction, water or energy conservation, food recovery (composting or donation), public outreach or education program. Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals for creative, independent environmental projects. Grants for qualifying organizations range from $2,000 to $5,000, and are competitive. Proposals are reviewed and scored by a City Council-appointed committee of community volunteers that makes award recommendations to City Council. Organizations must be located in the City of Thousand Oaks.
Application forms can be found at www.toaks.org/grants and must be submitted electronically no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2019.
