Film Screening of Happening: A Clean Energy Revolution

clean energy filmCan we make enough renewable energy to supply the world and replace fossil fuels? How will we do that, and will we do that? These are the questions that set filmmaker Jamie Redford on the road to learn about our clean energy future.

Redford is surprised to learn that one of the first two cities to go 100% renewable is in a conservative area of Texas. He also learned that the Department of Defense is the single largest single user of fossil fuels in the world and why they see transitioning away from fossil fuels as a critical mission to protect our military.

The film is co-sponsored by the local chapter of the Citizens Climate Lobby – a non-profit, nonpartisan organization focused on national policies to address climate change.

The film is 71 minutes long and there will be a question and answer period afterward with Dr. Helen Cox, the City’s Sustainability Division Manager and members of Citizens Climate Lobby.

Screening details:

July 23 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
