Used Bike Donations Requested at Arbor/Earth Day to Help Students
Some students in the Conejo Valley live many miles from school and can’t afford the bus. Cycles for Success helps these students graduate by providing them with used restored bikes, helmets and bike locks.
Conejo Valley High School Counselors have identified access to transportation as an ongoing issue for some students in our community, one that crosses school and neighborhood lines. Having functioning bicycles is one way to ensure that students can get to school each day.
Bring your used bike, helmet, lock, wheels, tires etc. to Arbor/Earth Day on April 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Thousand Oaks Library, 1401 E. Janss Road. Pete Martinez, the Youth Outreach Coordinator at the CRPD Teen Center, who runs this program, will be there to accept your donations. With the help of Michael’s Bicycles, these will be transformed into working bikes. Everyone making a donation to this program at Arbor/Earth Day will be entered into a raffle to win a Venstar ColorTouch Smart Thermostat ($200 value). For more information about Cycles for Success contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call him at 805-494-5156.
