Staying Well Series at the Thousand Oaks Library 

Beginning Tai Chi - 6-week series

Join instructor Ron Hickman to discover how Tai Chi can help to improve your balance, increase your range of motion and lower blood pressure. Must be able to stand unassisted for an hour. Classes will be held on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Thousand Oaks Library Community Room on January 8, 15, 22, 29 and February 5, 12.

 

Healthy Habits for a Healthy You

This one-hour workshop is for individuals of any age who are looking for information on ways to age as well as possible. At any age, there are lifestyle habits we can adopt to help maintain or even potentially improve our health. These habits may also keep our brains healthy as we age and possibly delay the onset of cognitive decline. Presented by the Alzheimer's Association California Central Coast Chapter on January 28, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Thousand Oaks Library Community Room.

 

Yoga for Beginners and Boomer

Join us for a safety-conscious, lighthearted yoga class which will help you improve balance and create space in both mind and body. No flexibility or experience needed!  Great for people brand new to yoga or who want to avoid strenuous practice. All levels welcome. Classes will be held on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Thousand Oaks Library Community Room on January 4 to February 22 (no session on Feb. 8).
