City of Thousand Oaks Summer Beach Bus Service Begins June 19

There is no better way to beat the heat this summer than by hitting the beach! Sit back, relax, enjoy the scenic views and let Thousand Oaks Transit get you there on the Summer Beach Bus!

Beginning June 19, the City of Thousand Oaks will be offering the Summer Beach Bus, a regular scheduled public transit service that travels between Thousand Oaks and Zuma Beach in Malibu. The service runs Monday through Friday until August 18, with the exception of July 3 and 4.

This is the fifth year Thousand Oaks Transit (TOT) is offering the service, a result of a collaboration between the City and the Conejo Recreation and Park District’s Teen Center.

Two round trips will be available daily Monday through Wednesday, and three round trips are scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Fare is $3.00 each way ($1.50 for seniors aged 65 and older, and disabled riders). Exact cash fare is required. Discounted 10 Ride Passes are available at the Thousand Oaks Teen Center or the Borchard Community Center, payable by cash or credit cards only.

The Summer Beach Bus is available on a first come, first served basis and no reservations are required. The Beach Bus departs from two convenient locations -- Borchard Community Center Parking Lot and the Thousand Oaks Teen Center Bus Stop. The Beach Bus drops off and picks up at Zuma Beach parking lot #5 near the snack shack.

For exact departure times please refer to the timetable posted at each stop, or for more information about the Summer Beach Bus, visit the Thousand Oaks Transit website at www.totransit.org.
