Master Plan and Space Planning Studies at the Thousand Oaks Library

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., August 23, 2023 - The time to plan for the future of your libraries is now! The City and Library have teamed up with architects to create a master plan and space planning study for the Grant R. Brimhall Library and Newbury Park Library.
The Grant R. Brimhall recently celebrated its 40th anniversary, and while the library we all know and love has provided wonderful services, even through a pandemic, the time has come to think about the next 40 years and what the space can be. Planning for the future of libraries is a thoughtful process rooted in community feedback. Help us better understand your needs and wants by getting engaged in the process.
We're taking a comprehensive look at our libraries, exploring everything from improving access, expanding programs, and employing better use of technology. We're also considering the viability and community desire for additional Library branches or service centers across Thousand Oaks. Using community feedback, the goal is to create functional, beautiful, sustainable spaces that truly meet our amazing community's needs.
That's where you come in! We value your insights and ideas. Join us for several meetings where we'll introduce the architects, dive into the master plan process, and, most importantly, hear your thoughts on improving existing conditions and improving the library.
Upcoming meetings will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Community Room, and Thursday, October 12, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Newbury Park Library Meeting Room.
