Master Plan and Space Planning Study at the Thousand Oaks Library
The City and Library have contracted with architects to assist with a master plan and space planning study for the Grant R. Brimhall and Newbury Park Libraries. In this process we will be taking a comprehensive look at existing conditions of both libraries as well as a wide range of potential improvements that will enhance customer service and improve the patron experience.
We will be looking for ways to improve access, expand programming, employ better use of technology, and create patron and workspace environments that are functional, beautiful, and sustainable. We will also be considering the viability and community desire for additional Library branches or service centers in Thousand Oaks.
The master plan process will involve extensive community outreach over the next few months, including Commission and Community Meetings. We are at the beginning and would like to invite you to a meeting on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Community Room. We will introduce the architects, hear more about the master plan process, and most importantly get your valuable insights about library existing conditions and your thoughts on areas for improvement. It is the first of several public meetings in this process and we hope that you will join us.
