ALL AGES
All ages are invited to join the Thousand Oaks Library’s Summer Reading Club now through August 12, 2023. Register, read, and earn rewards. Free, fun events all summer long!
Gundam model builders of all ages are invited to take part in the Thousand Oaks Library Gundam Builder Contest. The first place winner will receive a $50 gift card! Participating builds must be submitted by July 15, 2023 and will be displayed through LibCon weekend at the Grant R. Brimhall Thousand Oaks Library, July 22 – 23, 2023. A winner will be announced on Saturday, July 22 at 3:00pm in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Community Room.
Join us for a pop culture convention hosted by the Thousand Oaks Library that focuses on highlighting comics, anime, games, fandom, and all things geeky! T.O. LIBCON takes place on Saturday, July 22, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday, July 23, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm throughout the Grant R. Brimhall Library. Registration recommended.
KIDS
This is weekly program focuses on helping children gain read aloud confidence! For students entering Grades 1-4. To register, visit: www.tolibrary.org/kids/literacy. Now through August 7, 2023. Monday sessions are in the Newbury Park Library Meeting Room from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Wednesday sessions are from 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. located in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Program Room. Registration required.
30 minute workshops to practice writing the 26 letters of the alphabet and simple words. For students Entering Grades 1-5. Now through August 7, 2023. Enjoy 20 minutes of simple stories and songs with Ms. Karen. Monday, July 3, 2023 through August 7, 2023 at the Grant R. Brimhall Library from 10:15 a.m. to 10:35 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. No class on Monday, July 24. For ages 12-36 months. Registration required.
Create your own masterpiece “sculpture” using air dry clay! This program will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, from 11:00 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Community Room and 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. in the Newbury Park Library Meeting Room. Recommended for ages 5+
Dance, clap and sing along with Cheryl Lev and her guitar during this fun, interactive program. Ages: 0-5 years. Registration required. Readers of all levels and abilities are invited to read to a certified therapy dog! Participants will sign up for a brief 10-minute session with a dog and their owner. This program will be held on Tuesdays, July 11, 18, and 25 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Children’s Program Room and on Thursdays, July 6 and 20, 2023 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Newbury Park Library Meeting Room.

Join Sofia Ramirez Davis, Ed.D., Assistant Professor at California Lutheran University, and Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program Director, for an introduction to deaf culture and language. For Tweens and Teens grades 6-12. Registration recommended. This program will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Newbury Park Library Meeting Room.
Join Toastmasters for fun, friendly activities to help students get comfortable with public speaking. Registration recommended. This program will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Community Room and in the Newbury Park Library Meeting Room on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. The session for Tweens (Grades 6-8) will be from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. and 3:00 to 3:45 p.m. for Teens (Grades 9-12).
Genre Badge Buttons
Earn badge buttons all summer long for reading books in different genres and completing a scavenger hunt in the Library. Recommended for Tweens and Teens Grades 6-12. Forms available inside the library only!

Join us monthly to discuss books with strong female characters. This program will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the Grant R. Brimhall Library Program Room. Small Rocks/Grades 4-5 will meet from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Big Rocks/Grades 6-8 will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Registration Required.

Get "Bingo" by reading five books in a row on our SRC Bingo Card and writing down the title of each book and the author's name in the square it relates to. Turn in the filled-out Book Bingo Card online or at the Library between June 19 - August 12, and you will be entered to win! Ages 18+ only. You can download the Book Bingo Card or get a physical copy at the Library. To submit your Book Bingo Card, turn it in at one of the Library Reference Desks, or upload it digitally and submit your information using the online form.
This free support group is for moms and their newborns to get together in a relaxed environment to express their joys and concerns.
