Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency (COSCA) Seeks Applicants for the COSCA Board of Directors

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif., May 23, 2023- The City is seeking applicants who are interested in serving on the Conejo Open Space Conservation Agency’s (COSCA) Board of Directors. COSCA is a Joint Powers Authority agency between the City of Thousand Oaks (City) and the Conejo Recreation and Park District (CRPD) whose purpose is to develop a jurisdictional land management framework for the conservation of natural open space land areas; assure coordination of local land use and resource management decisions relating to open space and land areas; and function as an entity to focus community resources towards achievement of adopted general plan goals pertaining to open space and natural resources. The COSCA Board of Directors consists of two City Council members, two CRPD Board of Directors members, and one public member.

There is currently one (1) scheduled vacancy for the COSCA Board of Directors (Public Member), term to July 2027. To apply, applicants must be a City resident or reside within the CRPD boundary. Upon appointment, members are required to file a Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) Conflict of Interest Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and annually thereafter.

All applicants will be invited to interview as part of the standard review process, and if selected, will be appointed by mutual agreement of the Thousand Oaks City Council and the CRPD Board of Directors.

Applications for COSCA are due by June 22, 2023 at 5:00 pm.
