Free Landfill Day coming August 13th

August 2022. Do you need to dispose of waste debris from your summer DIY project? Have unwanted bulky items or excess trash? Trimming your trees, shrubs, or removing turf? Load up your waste items and bring them to the Calabasas Landfill for Free Landfill Day on Saturday, August 13thtruck_waste_landfill - Cropped2

This popular event gives Thousand Oaks residents an opportunity to drop off excess trash, yard waste, bulky items and more, free of charge from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Calabasas Landfill located at 5300 Lost Hills Road, Agoura Hills 91301. 

The event is open to Thousand Oaks residents only and valid I.D. or utility bill is required for proof of residency. Maximum of two loads per household. The following is a list of acceptable and unacceptable waste items for the event: 

Accepted

  • Household Trash
  • Appliances
  • Tire (no rims, limit 5)
  • Construction and demolition materials
  • Wood waste and green waste
  • Uncontaminated dirt/soil
  • Clean asphalt and concrete 

NOT accepted

  • Hazardous materials
  • Electronic waste (TV’s, computers, cell phones, etc.)
  • Fluorescent light tubes and ballasts
  • Liquids and water-soluble solids
  • Biological/medical waste/sharps
  • Auto bodies
  • Commercial waste or landscaping companies 

No commercial vehicles or landscaping companies are allowed. All loads are subject to inspection and open loads must be tarped for transportation per California State law. Hazardous waste, electronics, business waste, and medical waste will not be accepted. To dispose of these items, visit www.toaks.org/hhw and schedule an appointment to drop off household hazardous waste at the City’s facility.
