The Board of Governors’ official name is the Thousand Oaks Performing Arts Center Board of Governors. This body is appointed by the Thousand Oaks City Council; membership includes five members appointed by current City Councilmembers and one at-large Council-appointed member as well as representatives from the Alliance for the Arts (five members, confirmed by the City Council), one representative from the Thousand Oaks Arts Commission, one representative from the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley, one representative from the Friends of the Civic Arts Plaza and one representative-at-large from the Alliance for the Arts. As a City Council-appointed body, the Board of Governors advises the City Council regarding finance, operations and policy of the theatres.
