Patron Information

All dates, artists and performances are subject to change.
Theatrical smoke and special lighting effects are often used in presentations at the Civic Arts Plaza.

Latecomers
In deference to the artist and the audience, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the house staff and/or artist at an appropriate pause in the program. Those who leave during the performance will not be readmitted until the end of the work or at intermission.

Children
Children are welcome at most events, however, every patron must have a ticket regardless of age. As a courtesy to other guests, patrons are asked to bear in mind that it is not appropriate for small children to attend events where silence is necessary to fully enjoy the performance. In all cases, infants in arms are not permitted.

Cell Phones and other Electronics
As a courtesy to both patrons and performers, use of cell phones and pagers is not permitted in the theatres. Guests are also asked to disconnect their alarm watches before the performance begins.

Cameras and Recorders
Photography and audio/video recording of any performance, or the possession of any such device inside the theatres is strictly prohibited. Please check these items with the House Manager. Violation of this rule may result in eviction from the theatre at the discretion of management.

Doctors and Parents
Doctors should leave their seat location with their exchanges; parents should leave their seat location with their sitters. In case of emergency, call (805) 449-2714.

First Aid
If you are in need of first aid, please contact an usher.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found articles inside the theatres may be claimed by calling (805) 449-2726.

Listening Devices for Hearing Impaired Individuals
Infrared headsets which amplify the sound are available at no cost to the hearing impaired. Individuals wishing to obtain a headset may contact an usher upon entering the lobby area.

Disabled Accessibility
Both the Fred Kavli Theatre and the Scherr Forum are fully accessible to persons with disabilities. Wheelchair locations are available in various areas of both theatres. Patrons needing to take advantage of these locations are asked to contact the Civic Arts Plaza Box Office at (805) 449-2787 prior to the performance so that arrangements may be made.

Restrooms
Restrooms are located on each level of the Fred Kavli Theatre and in the Scherr Forum’s Main Lobby.

Telephones
Pay phones are located in the Founders Circle Lobby and in the lobby area outside of the Scherr Forum.

Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in any City of Thousand Oaks facility.

Dress Code
There is no official dress code, but we suggest "comfortable casual". Since the types of shows vary greatly, you’ll see all types of attire — from elegant cocktail attire to business casual to very casual. Audiences for Symphony and Broadway shows tend to be more formal than rock, pop and country-western concertgoers, who are often seen in jeans and t-shirts.

Tours of the Countrywide Performing Arts Center
Tours of the Fred Kavli Theatre and the Scherr Forum Theatre are available by appointment; contact the Friends of the Civic Arts Plaza at (805) 449-2741 for further information.
