Community Internships Training Youth

C.I.T.Y. is a six week summer internship program for students in the summer before their senior year, right when they are deciding on college? no college? which college? what career?  The C.I.T.Y. Fact Sheet provides an overview of the program.

Students must work a minimum of 10 hours a week and attend a career skills course at California Lutheran University (CLU) for five Fridays during the program's time frame.  The 2018 program will have two options: 1) 4-week course from July 2 - 28, 2018; or 2) 8-week course from June 18 - August 10, 2018.  Please see program overview and timeline in the C.I.T.Y Fact Sheet and program details in the C.I.T.Y Guidelines.

Businesses interested in hosting an intern for 2018 can complete a Business Commitment Form at any time.  Please see program overview in the C.I.T.Y Fact Sheet and program details in the C.I.T.Y Guidelines.

Participating businesses will provide both a mentor and a meaningful work experience to help students learn about each particular career.  They will also be asked to participate in the March 12, 2018 Internship Fair.

The 2018 Internship Student applications will be accessible to students who attend the Internship Fair on March 12, 2018.  If you do not attend the Fair, please check back on this website on March 20, for an application link.  All applications are due by April 1, 2018.  Please read C.I.T.Y. Guidelines before applying.

Please e-mail Youth Commission or call (805) 381-7362 for additional information.
