Residents Can "Cool-Off" at Goebel Senior Center

A "cooling center" is a designated location that provides relief from the heat for at-risk citizens. A cooling center does not provide provisions or care, they are for relief from the heat only. Transportation is not provided by the cooling centers. In Thousand Oaks, Dial-A-Ride is available for transportation to City locations during regular hours.

Other "cooling center" locations in Ventura County are Simi Valley Senior Center, Moorpark Senior Center, Ojai Little House Senior Center, and Ventura Senior Center.

"Cooling stations" provide more services than cooling centers, and local cooling stations are listed on the Southern California Edison website at www.sce.com.  Thousand Oaks Health Care Center is the cooling station here in our City.
