The library is proud to introduce the new online catalog design this month. This is a culmination of users and staff input, with the objective of making the catalog more user-friendly. In order to help us improve the catalog, we have designed a user-survey to help gather your input. Your feedback will help us to continually improve our catalog. We hope that this will improve your online experience.
The new catalog is available via the library’s home page. Look for the new catalog in the "At the Library" section. For additional search functions such as searching by title, select Title in the drop down menu and proceed to enter the title. All search functions are available from the catalog’s home page.
Here are a few tips on getting more information from the catalog.
Tip 1: Click on
to connect to additional content, such as title summaries, book review, or author notes. This additional content is made available by publishers.
Tip 2: After an unsuccessful keyword search, i.e. you are not seeing the exact match from the result list, the catalog allows you to choose from a list of alternative keywords. Look for “Did you mean?” for a search suggestion; and “more;” for a list of suggested keywords.
Tip 3: If you are searching for a series, e.g. Harry Potter series, please select Title search and proceed to enter the title.
Tip 4: Remember that the yellow bar is everywhere. You can access information via this menu bar. For example: for research databases, click on Research; to see a list of newly acquired materials, click on Featured Lists.
We hope you like the new appearance of the catalog. Your feedback is welcome. Please do not hesitate to contact us with your suggestions and comments.
