Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library Cultural Bus Tour - Norton Simon Museum and Old Town Pasadena

Saturday, September 15 - 9:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - bus leaves from Newbury Park Branch
A guided tour of the Norton Simon exhibit "Significant Objects: The Spell of the Still Life" which includes 700 pieces of art. Then, explore the museum and Old Town Pasasdena on your own. Cost: $29 for FTOL members and $34 for non-members (includes bus, driver's tip, admission and guided tour); Reservations required, call Carol at 805-480-1450.

e-Readers and e-Books: An Introduction

Thursday, Sept. 27 - 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. - Grant R. Brimhall Library
An introduction to some of the major e-Readers, including the Sony Reader, the Nook, and iPad. Also includes an introduction to how to download library e-books to these devices.

Friendly Book Discussion

Thousand Oaks Reads, One City One Book Kick-off

Saturday, Oct. 6 - 2 p.m. - Grant R. Brimhall Library
A free concert by legendary singer/songwriter John Batdorf kicks of a five week series of programs for Thousand Oaks Reads. This year's book selection is
"When the Killing's Done" by T.C. Boyle.  Meet the author Nov. 3 at the Civic Arts Plaza. Free tickets will be available at either library beginning Oct. 6.   Visit
