Our staff of Chemists, State Certified Operators, Control Technologists, Mechanics, and Administrative Staff work diligently every day to insure discharge permit compliance in an efficient and economical manner.

The City of Thousand Oaks wastewater collection system and the Hill Canyon Projects Wastewater Treatment Plant have an excellent operational environmental record. Ongoing construction to improve the collection system and treatment plant will minimize the possibility of system overflows or permit excursions, decrease liability exposure, and simultaneously improve effluent and environmental quality. Meeting new and more stringent environmental standards and regulations, whether in the wastewater collection system or at the Hill Canyon Wastewater Treatment Plant, is a never-ending challenge and the ongoing mission of the Hill Canyon  Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Meeting this challenge means recycling our imported water to beneficially be reused for agriculture on the Oxnard Plain, the preservation of riparian habitat from the City’s treatment plant to the Mugu Lagoon, and the beneficial recycling of Biosolids. It is a monumental environmental effort, and it happens every day.

HCTP not only has a beautiful surrounding area that would be great for filming, but the treatment plant also welcomes film scouts to request photos and/or make an appointment to view the property for film locations of movies, commercials, videos, television shows, etc.
