2016 Arbor/Earth Day Celebration

Arbor/Earth Day is a major City-sponsored event celebrating both Arbor and Earth Day in a fun, family-oriented venue. This year's event will feature environmental exhibitors, animal shows, children's activities, electric vehicle displays, electric car show, entertainment, bike rodeo, free workshops, food trucks and much more...

Parking information: Public parking is available at the Anthem church on Moorpark Rd., Thousand Oaks High School parking lots, and street parking.

Entertainment Schedule:

10:00am: Mayor's Welcome and Chumash Blessing Ceremony
10:15am: The Coveralls (cover band)
11:30am: Earthcapades (environmental vaudeville)
Noon: Animal show by America's Teaching Zoo in Moorpark
12:15pm: Conejo Drum Circle
12:45am: Earthcapades

1:15 - 3pm: Urban Dread (reggae)
2:00pm: Animal Show by Nature of Wildworks

Free Biochar / Composting / Permaculture Workshops:
There will be two workshops. They will be identical and held at two different times:
11:00am - 12:00 noon
1:00pm - 2:00pm

Electric Vehicle Displays

The City Public Works Department and Plug In America are partnering at this year's Arbor/Earth Day event to host a green car show. Electric vehicle manufacturers scheduled to appear include Tesla, BMW, Ford Focus, Chevy Spark, Volt and Nissan Leaf. The goal of Plug In America is to accelerate the shift to plug-in vehicles powered by clean, affordable, domestic electricity to reduce our nation's dependence on petroleum and improve the global environment.
