Housing Assistance Program for Seniors

A person may qualify if:

  1. They are a City resident;
  2. They are at least 62 years of age by January 1 of the applicable year or have met specified disability criteria and their total household income does not exceed $32,800 for the applicable year.

Evidence of age or disability and applicable year income records including Social Security, pensions, annuities, interest on savings, dividends, and all other income, must be presented when applying.

Claimants must provide evidence of disability income and must meet the criteria as established by the Social Security Administration Supplemental Program for the aged, blind, and disabled (Title XVI).

Claimants who missed the May/June sign-up dates may apply during the year need not wait until the next yearly sign up to apply; however, they must renew again during the annual May/June sign-up period.
