Report of Residential Building Records
Per the City of Thousand Oaks Municipal Code, it is required for the seller (or authorized representative) of any improved real residential property, upon entering into an agreement of sale or exchange of said property with another party(ies) or entity, that, at the sellers expense, the seller provide the buyer with a report of residential building records for said property. Said report shall provide the buyer with the regular authorized use, occupancy and zoning classification of the property along with all building permits filed with the City.
In addition to the records search, the seller or buyer shall have the option of obtaining a City Inspection Report. Request of this report will cause an inspector to come to said property to perform an inspection of construction on the property, to determine any hazards to health and safety, any potential violation to City codes and accuracy of City records.
