Project Description

Moorpark Rd Meeting Flyer (4)

The City maintains approximately 600 miles of sidewalks and 220 miles of bike lanes, and has an ongoing program to construct new sidewalks and bike lanes throughout the community. This project will provide for the installation of sidewalk and bike lane improvements along the North Moorpark Road corridor from West Olson Road (South) to the Conejo Valley YMCA (North). The corridor does not currently have Class II bike lanes and sidewalk.

 Preliminary Design Concept

Project Time frame

The final design for this project is expected to be completed by Fall 2017 with construction scheduled to start in Winter 2018 for approximately 6 months.

Project Funding

This project is funded by general funds and a $583,000 Federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Grant.

Project Benefits

The installation of new Class II Bike Lanes will allow motorists  and cyclists to travel in their respective lanes, thus avoiding confusion and lowering the risk for accidents.  The new sidewalk will bridge the existing gaps allowing pedestrians to walk the entire corridor safely without the need to cross the road.

Project Map and Impactsmap1

A vicinity and location map of this project is provided. Prior to any work being done, homeowners and businesses near the project will be notified. During construction, there may be some temporary impacts on traffic congestion and pedestrians.

Additional Project Information
