June 19, 2018– Highlight of City Council Action

    • Commended longtime City employee Jodi Golletti for being chosen Employee of the Year, her service to the City, and her upcoming retirement

    • Proclaimed July National Park and Recreation Month

    • Conducted public hearing regarding Title VI Transit Plan Update; adopted resolution to continue receiving federal funding; approved updated Title VI Non-Discrimination and Limited English Proficiency Plan for City-operated transit services

    • Conducted public hearing regarding proposed assisted living facility located at 980 Warwick Avenue; adopted resolutions adopting Negative Declaration, approving amendment to General Plan changing use from “Residential Medium Density” to “Institutional,” approving Special Use Permit for construction of 82-bed assisted living (memory care) facility; and introduced ordinance approving zone change from Residential Planned Development to Public, Quasi-Public and Institutional Lands and Facilities zone

    • Conducted public hearing regarding FY 2018-19 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Action Plan and FY 2018-19 Social Services Funding; approved FY 2018-19 CDBG Action Plan totaling $580,240 for submittal to U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); received report from 2018 Social Services Ad Hoc Committee to approve FY 2018-19 social services grants of $183,700, including $83,700 in CDBG funds, plus $100,000 from City’s Social Services Endowment Fund; approved supplemental grants totaling $3,336 ($1,668 each) to two additional non-profit agencies; authorized City Manager to proportionately adjust proposed allocations should HUD revise amount of City’s FY 2018-19 CDBG grant

    • Conducted public hearing regarding Landscape and Lighting Assessment District No. 79-2 Annual Levy FY 2018-19; adopted resolutions approving Engineer’s Report and Ordering Annual Levy of Assessments FY 2018-19

    • Received report on and approved Sustainability Plan for Municipal Operations

    • Received Youth Commission Annual Report

    • Councilmember Price provided update on League of California Cities (LCC) Public Safety Policy Committee Meeting June 8, 2018
