School children and adults from the Conejo Valley and surrounding areas are invited to attend the annual City of Thousand Oaks Public Works Open House at the Municipal Service Center, located at 1993 Rancho Conejo Boulevard, in Thousand Oaks. The open house celebrates National Public Works Awareness Week and acquaints residents with services provided by the City, including tree and landscape maintenance, repair and maintenance of the City’s vehicle fleet, street maintenance, recycling program, and the operation of water and wastewater systems within the City’s service area. The tour features our Thousand Oaks Transit buses which run on compressed natural gas (CNG). One of many tour highlights is a bus ride through the Municipal Service Center’s carwash which recycles our water. This year the City of Thousand Oaks Public Works Open House will be held on May 20 – 21, 2008, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Reservations are required. To make reservations, or for additional information, please call Becky Balfour at 805-449-2499, extension 662.
