Free Materials Available Using up a product for its intended use, or giving the material to someone who can, is the best practice for any product generated by a household -- this is the most efficient use of our natural resources. An important part of this free program is material re-use, where household products that have not been used are available free to the public, saving disposal cost and the extra cost of having to purchase a new product. On the average, this program gives away 200 pounds of household products, such as cleaners, paint and solvents, fertilizers, wood preservatives, adhesives, and motor oil.
