The Thousand Oaks Community generates thousands of tons of trash every year. The more trash we generate, the more we need to recycle, which helps reduce our dependence on using local landfills and keeps the community clean. The good news is that residents and businesses recycle more than half the trash generated each year. Click here for curbside recycling information.

In addition to recycling at work and using the curbside recycling program, local recycling centers will pay you for your recyclables. Turn in your plastic, glass, and aluminum beverage containers at one of the many redemption centers in Thousand Oaks. The recycling centers located in shopping center parking lots are not managed by any of the grocery stores, and are not regulated by the City.

Attention kids! Visit www.recycleyourcans.org to learn about how and where to recycle aluminum cans in your neighborhood and take a quiz to measure your recycling IQ.

For questions or comments about one or more of these centers, please call 1-800-RECYCLE. You may also call (805) 449-2400 or publicworks@toaks.org
